4 Steps to keep blood sugar under control

For all our patients with Diabetes and Pre-Diabetes, we would like them to keep blood sugar level at a stable level, not too high or too low. Managing diabetes means balancing the medicines you take (insulin or pills), the food that you eat, and the amount of exercise you do. Here are some guidelines:

Your blood sugar levels can be go up to high or down too low if you are:

  • not taking diabetes medicines when you're supposed to

  • not following the meal plan (like eating too much or not enough food without adjusting diabetes medicines)

  • not getting regular exercise or not making changes to your diabetes treatment plan when you exercise more or less than usual

  • being sick or having too much stress

Check your blood sugar levels regularly and take good notes when your glucose levels are too high or too low. Let our providers help you achieve and maintain good blood glucose control. Call to schedule Diabetes Management Consultation at 425-825-3900
